One of the first things that should be in place before embarking on an asset management strategy is a full understanding of your plant and equipment.
Basically if you don’t know what you have, how can you decide what you need to do?
In short, you need to have knowledge.
EPM Solutions are available to survey your site and provide a validated and clean asset register for all your plant and equipment. Plant and equipment sizes, locations, manufactures and nameplate details will all be recorded at this stage.
Knowledge is provided in 3 parts:
- Asset Register - Often compiled using asset management software or Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to hold all the information about an asset – with each asset being allocated its unique number within the asset register.
- Asset Tagging - The asset will be physically identified. This can be achieved in a number of ways, from RF tags to simple labelling. We will provide and install these for you.
- Reference Documents - As-built CAD drawings and written documentation will utilise the asset number to ensure quick and easy location of an asset.
We will compile new or update your existing drawings for all your plant and systems including, but not limited to: site layouts, process and instrumentation diagrams, (P&IDs) single line electrical diagrams (SLDs), electrical layout and distribution, pipework and machine layouts.
